Am 12. Mai 2024 lädt Halle gegen Rechts ab 14 Uhr auf dem Universitätsplatz zum Gedenken an die Bücherverbrennung durch die Nazis vom 12. Mai 1933 zu erinnern. Dabei sollen die verfolgten Autor*innen und ihre Werke im Vordergrund stehen. Zum 91. Jahrestag haben wir zu diesem Thema eine Broschüre herausgegeben, die einen Einblick in die vielfältigen Ideen gibt, die die Nazis vernichten wollten. Auch geht es darin um die besondere Verantwortung der Studierendenschaften, die schon vor 1933 einen nationalistischen, autoritären und zutiefst antisemitischen Kurs eingeschlagen hatten.

An der Gedenkveranstaltung von Halle gegen Rechts beteiligen sich neben uns noch die Leitung der MLU, der VVN-BdA Sachsen-Anhalt, die Omas gegen Rechts, die Institutsgruppe Politikwissenschaft und die Gedenkstätte Roter Ochse. Wir danken allen für die Mitarbeit und die Organisation und freuen uns darauf, am Sonntag möglichst viele Studierende zu sehen.
On May 12, 2024, Halle gegen Rechts invites you to the Universitätsplatz to commemorate the book burning by the Nazis on May 12, 1933. The focus will be on the persecuted authors and their works. On the 91st anniversary, we have published a brochure on this topic, which gives an insight into the insight into the diverse ideas that the Nazis wanted to destroy. It also deals with the special responsibility of the student bodies, which had already developed a nationalistic, authoritarian and deeply anti-Semitic course even before 1933.

The commemorative event organized by Halle gegen Rechts will be attended by
